Pub Street Siem Reap

No visit to Siem reap is complete without a visit to Angkor Wat and Pub Street. Although Pub Street here is not as big as Pub Street in Phnom Phen it has a nicer atmosphere, not so many “hostess bars”.

It is packed with good bars and restaurants with most having a “happy hour” all night where beer is .50c a glass and cocktails of every imaginable sort range from $2.50 to $3.50.

We found a great Hot Pot restaurant on our first night (NO happy hour) 🙁 and on the second night a pleasant restaurant in the back street with all night “happy hour” 🙂 and good meals from $2.00 – $5.00.

The Wombats were happy 🙂

Wombats in Pub Street Siem Reap Cambodia from Tassie Wombat on Vimeo.

Pub Street Siem Reap is the “lively” part of town at night. full of restaurants and bars it is usually packed between 8pm and 2am. Most places have “Happy Hour” which generally means from open till close when beer is .50c a glass and cocktails of all kinds around $2 -3.
The small street is closed at night to cars motor bikes and Tuk Tuks but the Tuk Tuk drivers will hang out on the street waiting to pounce on you 🙂
It’s noisy, alive and a great place to spend an hour or so for a feed and a few drinks.

About Willie Wombat

Wombats come from Tasmania which is the island state at the bottom end of Australia. We enjoy traveling and try to do a bit before we get too old to enjoy it anymore. We are currently both (Mr. & Mrs. Wombat) in our seventies so the time must come soon to pull up the armchairs and footstools and settle down to life on our 17 acre property 30 klm from Hobart which is the capital of Tasmania.
