How to navigate this site

Hello, I am Willie Wombat

Wombat 1 -med

Let me help you find your way around.

The “Navigation menu” above has a list of countries we visited and at the bottom of this page the order of travel 1 – 7 which are clickable in order to take you to that country’s page.

Click on a country in the menu bar above and you will be taken to a main page giving a general description of that country. As we visited various countries we added  “Sub” pages” and you can check each area visited in each country (not as good as being with us but the best we can do).  On each page there are blue coloured “links” which will take you to that particular post and it will very likely contain the story, some pictures and a video. be sure to watch our videos.

There is  a “contact us” tab on the home page as well as some of the other pages. Feel free to send us a message using this.

On various maps you will see some tags which when clicked will tell you a little about the place and if you click on the picture of the Earth in the toolbar of the map, Google earth will transport you there if you have it installed, (if not then install it)  🙂

Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur: We are very fortunate to have friends who have said we can stop in their vacant unit in KL. Whilst there a MUST is to go to the top of the Petronis Towers. Soaring to a height of 451.9 metres, the 88-storey twin structure is Kuala Lumpur's crown jewel. Majestic by day and dazzling at night, the PETRONAS Twin Towers is inspired by Tun Mahathir Mohamad's vision for Malaysia to be a global player. And featured in the film "Entrapment" with Sean Connery. We will spend two weeks here before heading off to Hong Kong and China etc. We also will make a 2 day or so trip Penang whilst here. But will put up separate pages for those "outings"

Hong Kong / Macau
Hong Kong / Macau:  Six days days in Hong Kong will no doubt be very busy,  and  whilst here we MUST go on the Ngong Ping 360 cable car on Lantau island which goes  5.7km  travelling between Tung Chung Town Centre and Ngong Ping. Also a visit to The Peak and the fishing village we went to 20 years ago before  traveling by train  to Beijing, Shanghai and remote places in China.

China: We will have a month to see some of China. Looking forward to being in a couple of the worlds biggest, fastest cities, Shanghai and Beijing, but also to more remote places like the Rice Terraces out of Guilin  where we want to be the only "foreigners" in town. All our travel throughout China (and its bigger than Australia) will be by Bullet Train. We are very excited and looking forward to the Chinese cuisine. We must seek out "Roast Duck" Chinese style, Peking Duck and lots of "Dim Sum". Another must do is have a "nice long" massage.

Vietnam: We hope to spend 3- 4 weeks here and want to is spend a few nights in Hanoi visiting the Water puppet theatre which is a traditional art form in Vietnam, and has existed for more than 1000 years. Visit "The Old Quarter" which dates back 1000 years. Visit Ha Long Bay for a couple of days and nights spent on one of the Junks that cruise there. Another "want to do" is visit Hoi An which is a world heritage site. Another must do is have a "nice long" massage. .

Cambodia: A few days spent in Phnom Phen touring the multitude of markets and a visit to The Royal Palace, built in 1866, as the residence of the King of Cambodia. Lots of eating, lazing around, eating and more lazing around will prepare us for Temples galore at Seam Riep.
