Night market in Phnom Penh

About 3 to 4 times a week at around 6pm the night market down on riverside Phnom Penh fires up. We had waited for the night and on Friday 6th June wandered (as Wombats do) off to the market. Not as “hard work” as many markets this one is family friendly with lots of family groups looking, buying, watching the “entertainment” and sitting on the dozens of mats in the food section enjoying a nice cheap dinner, as we did.

Actually we found a table with one of the vendors because we felt there was no way we could sit cross legged on a mat and sprawling was probably not acceptable. Plus once down we might never get up 🙁

The food was great and very inexpensive and if we can we will return.

The video will give you a good insight to the market we hope you enjoy watching. Pity you could have been there, and there are a few pics under the video.

About Willie Wombat

Wombats come from Tasmania which is the island state at the bottom end of Australia. We enjoy traveling and try to do a bit before we get too old to enjoy it anymore. We are currently both (Mr. & Mrs. Wombat) in our seventies so the time must come soon to pull up the armchairs and footstools and settle down to life on our 17 acre property 30 klm from Hobart which is the capital of Tasmania.
